The software is fine. But you should know that the standard iPad without 3G doesnt support GPS tracking. I bought the software and cannot use it. So be careful !!!!

price of maps are fair, poi quite ok, maps good for normal navigation needs. (i use german inland map) a gpx upload function to the device is missing. quite handy for normal use. definitly to recomment...
App is crashing very very often with NORTH-WEST EUROPEAN COSTS on iPhone5. Maps are good and many good ideas are inside. It is a pitty that I can not really use it. Good point is that I could return app and got money back from supplier! Hope that Jeppesen can solve problems on iPhone 5.
GPS isnt working in many circumstances even if other apps have signal. A yellow bar with no content appears on the top and does not go away. The German map has many mistakes in content and spelling. The idea and functionality of the app is great but realization very poor.
Cant figure out how to downlaod/purchase detail content Using iPhone 4. it just keeps kicking me out with a message - "Contact Customer Support" The support link given above drives me to a site with no information on the App.
Just keeps crashing. Useless
The $20 for downloaded Charts looked good but disappoints. The detail in the charts is definitely there but seemingly not the means to use it. Whats missing is some general help and instructions on using the features of the app. Cant find how to do things such as plotting a course and setting waypoints. This basic should be a given. Is just digital charts for now.
Works great on my iPad. Map detail for lake Ontario is better then navionics. The main annoyance is the tilt view activating when you try to zoom in or out. Anchor watch is a good feature to have. I especially like how all the info is displayed. Accessing the marina images is also too cumbersome but glad its there anyway. Cant wait for new version. Im running os5 and have not had crashes like others describe. I also think its an app geared towards an iPad.
I got canada lakes for 20bucks! Didnt expect much but from what ive seen so far its pretty precise and the data( depth, vegetation, etc...) is pretty accurate. I use this on my iphone. Easy to use, marking spots, tracking, waypoints... Im not a GPS specialist and i found my way around
This app is way better the the navionics A lot more detail and functions. If you goto the jeppeson web site you can download the user manual into iBooks. It is a big help to fully understand how the app works.
I replaced my IPad and could not access the charts. But if you deleate the app then reinstall you can then re download the charts. Now everything works great. CaptBill on Southern Comfort
Terrible Customer Support. App does not work, Support says working on a fix... 2 months now... Why make an update, when you obviously didnt test it?
I finally found a Navigation App for my area of boating. Too bad it is broken and no longer works. Bad support. I cant download my maps I purchased from the App! If I could rate it zero I would.
The usability for basic viewing and zooming is fine and comfortable to use, except for the tilting which is a bit annoying for me personally, since I always prefer to look at the chart without prospective view. Unfortunately, the application comes with numerous bugs (measuring distance wont work, search wont work, etc), and doesnt offer any help or documentation on how those bugged feature were intended to be used at all. I read also from other users that restore purchased content is not working either.
new iphone. can not restore maps. oh the program tries, but crashes. multiple attempts to complete download produces more crashes and then a file check error failure. mm. my garmin marine charts work pretty good.
Much more expensive than other IOS competition at around four times the price. I currently have the same nautical coverage for $8.99 on IOS from another competitor. One can also not properly see the shadowed coverage area in enough detail to decide which overlapping maps you would even require. On our boat I currently use these same jeppesen maps on our chart plotter but they are far more overpriced for that medium while also being only sold on antiquated chip technology that cannot be updated. Frankly, we dont even bother updating anymore because of the extreme cost and hassle of returning the chip via snail mail. Also, the land, shore and rocks move very little on our local lakes! This is a market whos time has cone to fall in price dramatically. Not recommended, better alternatives available elsewhere.
Constantly crashes. Try to restore maps I purchased but it cant download and constantly crashes. GARBAGE. Contact with Jeppesen goes unanswered. I want my money back. This is fraud. Paid $40 for nothing.
Yet again, Jeppesen has issued a broken update. After nearly six months with neither update nor communication regarding the problems with this app, they issue an update worse than the last. Previously, this app would not work properly (could not restore charts I had purchased) on my new iPod 5. However it continued to function on my first generation iPad. Now, with the 1.3.0 update, it will not run on my iPad at all. I am astounded Apple continues to allow this app to be offered via the store. If it was possible to give it zero stars, thats what it would get. Support for this app is woefully inadequate. If you havent already wasted your money on this app, go for the Garmin product instead.
I downloaded it to my app library then synced iPod to get it on my device only to discover it simply blows itself off after initializing, the app does not finish loading for use. Also I have hunted high and low for obtaining charts and there is simply no obvious method for obtaining regiional charts, What good is that? I heard about this app from a boating e-mail so thought I should have it but really there is nothing to have. Needs a newer new update, last one caused crashing. Back to not working again!
This app was working last summer but lately it keeps crashing on my iPad 4 Retina after initializing. Its apparently been crashing for others for some time. What is happening to fix it ? Is management aware that nothing is being done?
